4 Tips For Your Senior Session!

1.It’s all in the eyes

Avoid bland portraits by expressing emotion using your eyes. Your whole face lights up when you smile naturally and your eyes appear bright and alert. Admit it, you practice smiling to your camera phone before you click the button, this  is no different. You can practice smiling in the mirror and trying different expressions. You want your face to alter the shape of your eyes to ensure your smile looks natural.

2.Just relax

The best portraits happen when you’re relaxed and confident. Let the excitement of what these pictures mean come through in your photos by taking a moment to relax, breathe, and have fun with it. You may feel silly but we’re used to it and it will help you feel more comfortable.

3.Breathe

Yeah, it sounds a little obvious, but breathing is a key factor in capturing a natural look. You can practice by smiling in front of a mirror while you take a deep breath. Then release the air slowly while you hold the smile and observe how your eyes and face relax into natural expression. Let your eyes “smile” by concentrating on the apples of your cheeks pushing upward. So, when you’re feeling a little awkward, you can just breathe.

4. Beautify
This means you, too, guys. Ladies, take a little extra time to get your hair styled and choose an outfit that makes you feel and look your best.  Guys, shower and shave, and get your hair styled too if you want. If you look and feel your best, your confidence shines through. Make that extra effort so that you walk into your senior session feeling confident, gorgeous, ready, and motivated.

If you follow these four tips you’ll have no problem giving up control of the camera and nailing your senior portrait session with confidence. Put these pointers to practice and you can be sure that you won’t be ashamed to share your portraits with friends and family for years to come.
